Sunrise, FL - In an exhilarating matchup, the Boston Bruins secured a 6-2 victory over the Florida Panthers in their most recent playoff game, Sunday night.
The Bruins took an early lead, with Brad Marchand scoring a goal just 9 minutes into the game. However, the Panthers started to come around in the second period with a goal from Matthew Tkachuk.
In the second period, Boston regained momentum, with Jake DeBrusk scoring a goal to put the Bruins ahead, 2-1. The third period saw back-and-forth action in the early minutes of the period, with both teams playing solid defense and creating scoring opportunities. Boston scored four goals in the last period, with a final of 6-2.
Ultimately, the Bruins were able to hold on to their lead, thanks in part to the outstanding goaltending of Ullmark, who made 41 saves on 43 shots.
"It all depends on how the guy is playing, who is in the net and where they are mentally and physically. We need to see where Linus is at. We thought he had a good game, and he wasn’t overly taxed as far as amount of time spent in our end.” Said Jim Montgomery, head coach of the bruins.
The victory brings the Bruins' record to 40-6-1 on the season, and they currently sit in first place in the East Division. The team will look to build on this win as they continue their push towards in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
