Dean College's SAC partners with Teamworks amid COVID-19

Dean College's Student Activities Committee has partnered with Teamworks, a recreational sports company known for encouraging fitness and collaboration among athletes of all ages.

Franklin, MA, November 30, 2020

Teamworks, a Rhode Island based company specializing in recreational activities, has teamed up with Dean College's SAC to host a night of Bubble Soccer, on January 25, 2021 at 7:00pm in Pieri Gym. This event will motivate students, faculty, and staff to engage in physical activity, while remaining safe. Bubble soccer will also give participants an opportunity to learn of new ways in which sports can be played during a pandemic.

"This is a great opportunity to get people out of their dorms, apartments, houses, and even work area. After ten months of being online with classes, we are finally able to return to campus, and bring the covid-friendly ideas we brainstormed in quarantine, to life," said Madi Kowal, Marketing Vice President for the college's Student Activities Committee. "We know this event will bring lots of joy to the campus, and make up for the time lost. Each bubble that is used during the soccer game will be thoroughly cleaned after each use, to ensure we are following the CDC guidelines and are remaining safe. We are thankful for Teamworks, and their generosity during these unprecedented times."

Bubble Soccer consists of five players on each team, all of whom wear a plastic bubble on the upper half of their body to ensure contact safety while playing. Although Teamworks is a Rhode Island based company, they are providing Dean with all materials needed to have a successful night of Bubble Soccer.
